TABOR RINGERS 23rd June 2017
The Tabor Ringers based at Tabor Independent Methodist Church Timsbury are a handbell and chime group who, under the leadership of Ms Angie Poole are kept busy entertaining at various venues throughout the local area. Their music is interspersed with Community singing led by Mrs Lynda Lye and recitations by Mrs Carol Wilkes or humorous stories by Mrs Dianne Carter.
New music was learnt for the Summer Season and proved popular with audience
In June they took a break from rehearsal to have a social gathering. A lunch was held for members, their husbands/wives and invited guests at The Farrington Inn, Farrington Gurney. This was greatly enjoyed by all.
A well earned rest is being enjoyed now until 3rd September when rehearsals resume.
Bookings for the remainder of this year are coming in and some Christmas bookings have already been taken. December is our busiest month, so if anyone would like us to play Carols for them, please contact us now to avoid disappointment. Donations for playing are welcome and during the course of the year these donations are then utilised for local charities as and when they occur.
We are always willing to welcome new players. If anyone is interested just come along and visit us one rehearsal afternoon to see how things go. Rehearsals are held on Monday afternoons from 2 – 3 at Tabor Church. Playing is not strenuous and no knowledge of reading music is required. Although we rehearse in a Church you do not have to be a Churchgoer to join us.
As the majority of our engagements are in the afternoon, flexibility of work/home life would be advantageous. It would be advisable to contact our Secretary; Mrs Ruth Bailey to ensure there is a rehearsal when you would like to visit.
Mrs Ruth Bailey (01761) 752049 can provide further information and take bookings.
